This year’s South Bass Island Kayak Rendezvous (SBIKR) potluck speaker is Eric Slough, SBIKR coordinator and Great Lakes Paddler.
After dozens of Great Lakes adventures, Eric's trip to the Massasauga Provincial Park was personal. It was known in his family that his great grandfather had once co-owned an island in Canada. The location was lost to his family and after taking a deep dive into research and having a few lucky turns, Eric was able to locate and visit the island.
Join along on an adventure that starts at Snug Harbor, north of Parry Sound in the Georgian Bay Ontario, and skirts along the costal region through Crown Land and into the Massasauga Provincial park, land of the 30,000 islands. The trip started with two bits of information "island,' and "Canada," and ended with an adventure for a lifetime.
This year's raffle donations will go to the Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center.
